Differences in Material Composition
Zirconia ceramic fiber cloth: Composed primarily of zirconia (ZrO₂), often doped with stabilizers such as yttria (Y₂O₃) to form a high-purity crystalline structure. For example, the ZIRCAR ZYF series zirconia felt (distributed by Bihe Scientific Instruments (Shanghai) Co., Ltd.) features a zirconia content exceeding 95% and offers exceptional temperature resistance.
Ordinary ceramic fiber cloth: Primarily composed of aluminum silicate (Al₂SiO₅); for instance, the aluminum silicate ceramic fiber cloth produced by Langfang Qingyu Refractory Materials Co., Ltd. contains approximately 47% aluminum oxide, with the remainder consisting of silicate impurities.

 

Performance Comparison
High-Temperature Resistance:
Zirconia fiber cloth can withstand long-term operating temperatures exceeding 1,600°C (e.g., ZIRCAR ZYF-A2.13) and short-term temperatures up to 2,000°C.
Ordinary ceramic fiber cloth (such as polyurethane-based products from Taixing Baisheng Insulation Materials) typically withstands temperatures between 900°C and 1,200°C.
Thermal Conductivity:
Zirconia fiber cloth has a thermal conductivity as low as 0.03 W/(m·K), offering superior thermal insulation performance.
Ordinary ceramic fiber cloth has a thermal conductivity of approximately 0.12 W/(m·K).
Chemical Stability:
Zirconia fiber cloth exhibits exceptional resistance to acid and alkali corrosion, making it suitable for environments involving molten metal; ordinary fiber cloth is prone to corrosion in strong acid or alkali environments.
