Ceramic Fiber Cotton

Ceramic Fiber Cotton is a loose high-temperature refractory fiber material made from high-purity raw materials. The raw materials are melted at high temperature and then formed into fibers by spinning or blowing processes. Unlike rigid boards or preformed blankets, the loose fiber structure can adapt more easily to irregular spaces, furnace lining gaps, and insulation cavities.

The material has stable chemical properties and can resist the effects of most media. According to the supplied product information, contact with oil, water, or steam does not remove its refractory and thermal insulation properties.

Because the product is supplied as loose fiber, it can be used directly as a filling insulation material. It can also serve as the basic raw material for ceramic fiber blankets, felts, boards, papers, cloth, ropes, and other processed fiber products.

The series includes NC1260, NC1350, NC1400, NC1430, and NC1600, covering classification temperatures from 1260°C to 1600°C.

Average fiber diameter varies from approximately 1.95 to 2.6 μm. Alumina content differs by grade, ranging from 46%–49% to 72%.

NC1430 contains 15%–17% ZrO₃ and can be used where a zirconium-containing fiber formulation is required. NC1600 contains 72% Al₂O₃, while the combined Al₂O₃ and SiO₂ content is 99%.

Grade selection should consider long-term operating temperature, furnace atmosphere, filling position, and the intended downstream processing method. Classification temperature alone should not be treated as the only selection factor.
