Vertical Graphite Heating for Ultra-High-Temperature Sintering

Vertical Vacuum Furnace is an ultra-high-temperature vacuum sintering system using graphite electrodes and graphite heating elements.

The graphite electrodes extend through the furnace body through sealed structures and connect with the internal graphite heating components. Electrical current is transferred directly to the heating zone.

Multiple radiation shields are arranged around the graphite heating system to reduce heat transfer from the ultra-high-temperature zone toward the furnace shell.

The vertical furnace chamber is suitable for processes that require workpieces to be loaded along the vertical direction, positioned by gravity, or handled through upper and lower loading arrangements.

The maximum temperature reaches 2200°C.

Water-Cooled Furnace Body and Four Vertical Chamber Sizes

The inner furnace shell is made from stainless steel and the outer shell from carbon steel.

A circulating water-cooling system is installed between the two layers. The supplied product information lists the furnace shell temperature as below 50°C.

Ceramic alumina fiber is used in the furnace chamber as an insulation material and to support a relatively clean processing environment.

The equipment can perform high-temperature sintering under completely oxygen-free conditions.

Available chamber sizes are φ80 × 100 mm, φ160 × 300 mm, φ200 × 300 mm, and φ240 × 400 mm.

Their corresponding power ratings are 15 kW, 30 kW, 40 kW, and 48 kW.

Rated voltage is 380 V. The heating rate is 1–20°C/min, while the vacuum level is 6.67 × 10⁻³ Pa.

Applications for Ceramics, Carbides and High-Temperature Materials

Vertical Vacuum Furnace can be used for vacuum or protective-atmosphere sintering of ceramic sealing components, silicon carbide, zirconia, zinc oxide, alumina, and other inorganic materials.

It can also be used for processing metal materials such as cemented carbide.

Other listed applications include purification of rare-earth elements and their oxides and sapphire annealing.

Compared with a horizontal graphite vacuum furnace, the key difference is the loading direction and workpiece positioning method.

Buyers should therefore confirm crucible or workpiece diameter, loading height, vacuum process, protective gas, and cooling-water conditions before selecting the chamber specification.

Custom Vertical Insulation Components and Delivery

Nengcheng Crystal supplies high-purity alumina fiber, ceramic fiber, and vacuum-formed products that can be used for insulation and structural support in high-temperature equipment.

The company can develop furnace liners, insulation rings, cover plates, and other special-shaped insulation components according to equipment drawings.

Its team covers material development, forming and machining, quality control, and technical support.

Customized sample development normally takes 7–15 days. Customized equipment or non-standard products generally require 20–45 days.

Photos or videos can be supplied during production, and third-party inspection is accepted before delivery.

According to the supplied information, consumable and wear parts do not have a fixed warranty period. Other after-sales matters are handled by dedicated personnel according to the actual situation.
